Review of Incredibles 2 (2018) by Caleb B — 22 Nov 2018
Just saw Incredibles 2 for the first time ever yesterday and even though the movie wasn't as good as the last one, it was still a great and fun to watch. However, there were some minor issues that I had seen that kind of gave me a hard time.
For instance, I understand that the film is PG and that we are now in the 21st century, but is swearing and alcohol really necessary? I mean it's not the first time Disney Pixar got away with showing these types elements in their animated projects, (Ratatouille, Finding Dory, etc.
) but the way they did it then was more family friendly. This however was more explicit than ever! Just the fact that there was a character (Evelyn Deavor/Screenslaver) in the movie that was pretty much of a drunken mess and was swearing, I can't believe that Disney was approved of showing this to little kids.
And this is the company that keeps high profile checks on people that work for them! Another thing I had an issue with was the character, Rick Dicker. The voice didn't fit right with his character and his design looked too shadowy/dark.
Now aside from all of those things, here's what I liked about the movie. I loved the enhanced animation, I liked all the characters including the antagonist overall, but most importantly the story and the action was amazing! Overall, I would rate this movie an 8/10.
