Review of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (2008) by Mike T — 09 Jan 2015
The first blockbuster of '08, really shines in a bad movie year, but as good as the years after were for amazing movies, at least we could rely on a more restrained blockbuster effort back when there wasn't a delirium in the industry but rather some more honest conservative real efforts.
The years after were a millionaires dream, a tasty ice cream dream, but at least in this year we have a blockbuster that is worth spending money to watch, and isn't so epic and amazing that you just want to stab it in the back because there is just so much beauty in the movies right now, this was at least a "real effort" and boy was it ever old-school fun.
Indy 4 was amazing, for the year 2008 it came out in. Certainly better than Pirates of the Caribbean. Yeah, it was quite good, although it had that conservative tone of only realizing that it is good years after it was released, kind of like rewriting history.
Still, that's the best part. Like going to Disneyland.
