If you read the novel there is a reason to see this. If not, however, the set up and plotting are simply plodding. There is insufficient eye candy to keep one interested, and the plot introduction was poor at best.
As a body of work, the three films in the series leave much to be desired, although Angels and Demons was good enough as a standalone film to separate itself from the pack.
