Rich in dialogue, clever in its plot sequencing, and stylish in Spike Lee's urban feel, this is a unique heist movie that turns out to be more than initially thought. The back & forth exchange between Denzel's not-so-clean cop and Clive Owen's cunning thief is a stellar chess and checkers game, one that draws in audiences while still wondering what the heck is going on.
