Yeah, I get how some people are upset over the series ' repeating it'self ' but the plot has a lot of effort put into it in my opinion.
The whole point of this movie was to show it's viewers how Elise dealt with her abilities as a child and met with the Lambert family in the future.
People expect way too much for movies from the looks of the bad reviews, Insidious didn't need anything new, this was a great way to end the franchise.
