What a strangely pointless film !……so shallow….so bored with its material and so boring to watch - a kind of Dutiful Exercise for everyone involved....Tiresome one-note performances wedded to tedious one-note direction.
Rarely have I watched a film script and a ham-fisted directorial touch produce a work that so totally abandoned the characters ! They are depicted here with something like complete indifference. They bore us and ultimately seem almost ridiculous and pathetic.
.... The only thing this movie has going for it is snob appeal....but that - sad to say- is almost always enough to "wow" the critics.
