The idea of an STD monster is excellent, and for something that only appears in human form they do a very good job of making it disturbing, but the film is let down by an ending that resolves nothing and leaves a completely empty hole.
The overall impression it leaves is a sense of dread and anxiety aided by some wonderful camera work that (contrary to the norm) focuses on daytime shots and wide angles. It also has a creepily effective score.
