Even though It Follows isn't scary as I was led to believe it almost still lived up to my expectations.
It's usually non violent disturbances made me fell more like a was watching a psychological thriller rather than a horror movie.
Like Insidious, subtle cinematography is used with creative sound mixing/editing to create suspense. Combined with the refreshing musical score It Follows is almost a considerable horror movie. The other almost considerable thing about It Follows is its respect of the audience. It doesn't spoon feed the audience members useless information, unlike some horror movies(Carrie,Ouija...).
The performances aren't anything to be exited about but the do deliver.
The concept is what makes this movie scary. Director David Robert Mitchell knows how terrify the audience without usage of extensive violence and jump scares (there are however a few).
