I can hardly rate this low enough. and I almost feel bad for doing so. there are some good actors in the film, and a couple of them even play their parts well or at least do well with what they are given.

some will say this movie is not about drugs....but, im sorry, the characters are too flat and too self involved to make it a good character story, the plot, while understandably episodic, is only sporadically the least bit engaging, it provides no insight into drug culture or even the individual experience of a substance abuser, and its not even particularly well photographed.

there are only a few chuckles along the way that vainly attempt to float this 5 hour long movie that is, in reality, under an hour and 50 minutes.
