Review of Jigarthanda (2014) by Prabu ` — 04 Aug 2014
I would like to start by mentioning Simha, the person who truly stole the show. His portrayal of "Assault" Sethu keeping it as real and unique as possible, simply amazing. The rest of the cast Siddharth, Lakshmi Menon, Karunakaran, Ramachandran Durairaj and the others have also done a great job making their characters as lively and enjoyable as possible.
Karthik Subbaraj has done a marvelous job. With a tightly knit script containing smartly placed dark humor and tense making, truly Karthik has outdone himself from Pizza - The Movie and personally this movie might be my favorite Indian film out this year, no build-ups and wannabe Hollywood movie garbage here, its a pure Tamil film made in style.
Gavemic U Ary's visuals gave this movie its essence and style that makes it this epic and unforgettable, definitely one of the finest new cinematographers out there.
