The original John Wick was a clever, small revenge genre film - you killed my dog, so I'm gonna kill you and anyone else who gets in my way. John Wick 2 tried to turn this into The Matrix - a whole universe of assassins.
Unfortunately Chapter 3 continues this trend toward needless baroque complication of the original idea. I like Reeves and the fight scenes are great, but the attempt at extending the already ornate plot of the second film is a flop.
