Review of Johnny English Strikes Again (2018) by Peter W — 03 Nov 2018
I don't know what the 'critics' saw, but I laughed harder than I have in YEARS. Particularly the 'virtual reality' piece - that segment alone makes the film worth seeing. True - lots of slapstick and pratfalls, and periods of awkwardly unfunny material too, but the uproariously funny parts make it all worth the watch.
My 15 and 11 year olds, who are hard cases for laughter, nearly choked laughing and my 11 year old repeatedly hid his eyes at the numerous scenes of Johnny English making a fool of himself. All in good PG humor - nothing inappropriate to see here.
For those of you who enjoyed Rowan Atkinson as "Mr Bean" (available on youtube BTW), this will be enjoyable. The tomatometer is WAY off base on this one!
