Review of Jojo Rabbit (2019) by Derekreide — 26 Oct 2019

‘Jojo Rabbit’...Well, I thought it would turn out one way...But it didn’t. This film surprised the hell out of me. I absolutely LOVED this movie. Now, hear me out here, I was crazily concerned when this thing was coming out.

I mean who wouldn’t be concerned? An anti-hate satire based around Nazi Germany and Hitler? Yeah, I gave it an immediate pass. Then the trailer came out...I was shocked. Now after watching it, all of that concern proved itself totally meaningless.

This film is absolutely hilarious, sad, and surprisingly heartfelt. Rebel Wilson, Sam Rockwell, and Taika Waititi all steal the show...MULTIPLE times. In a nutshell, this is one of the best movies of the year and the most surprising of the year, for me.

Definitely give it a watch if you’re not too sensitive about the subject matter...it’s worth it.
