I loved the premise and stylish execution of this film, and thought Josh Brolin was fantastic in it. He plays the role of Jonah Hex, an ex-Confederate, supernatural antihero perfectly and so convincingly that you'd be forgiven in believing that, in real life, Brolin was indeed Hex.

That's how good he is. Neveldine and Taylor have written a surprisingly faithful and coherent adaptation of the Hex comics while Director Jimmy Hayward punctuates the film with great humor and kinetic action sequences bolstered by Marco Beltrami/Mastodon's terrific score that compliments every scene in the film perfectly.

I don't know why so many people think this movie's plot is convoluted; it makes perfect sense, and you'd have to be stupider than a pile of bricks not to understand it. I thought that this was both a great western and a good comic book movie, and not even another unbelievably shitty Megan Fox "peformance" can drag it down.
