Review of Journey's End (2017) by Richard S — 05 Sep 2018

Journey's End follows a young and excited officer joining the front line in 1918 as he looks to join his friend in the oncoming battle to end the war. The friend he finds who is played superbly by Sam Claflin is somewhat changed from the young man he knew back home. War has changed the men on the front line, all of whom are overcome by fear, hate and have lost who they once were. Some try to distract themselves with stories of life before war while others have lost themselves in a bottle of whisky. Fear and tensions rise as the story progresses with a strong sense of foreboding.

This was a pretty decent study of how war, fear and regret can change someone. It's not an action packed war story but it is a very good character study.
