If "Shawn of the Dead" was a parody of the zombie apocalypse genre, "Juan of the Dead" is a parody of a parody with a whole lot more thrown in, and it's utterly brilliant. Political satire is mixed with serious geek cred as the jokes about the undead nature of the Cuban socialist system blend seamlessly with a solid zombie apocalypse movie that's also a buddy comedy that also morphs perfectly into a seriocomic take on the Lord of the Rings.
I knew it would be good but I never dared hope it would be this good, so go see it now!!!
