Review of Jurassic World Dominion (2022) by Magikmice — 10 Jun 2022
A fun ride. Thrusts the legacy characters into this frenetic whirlwind. There is potential early on, then it becomes frustrating how poorly scenes are jumbled together. Some of the action and character drama is okay. I liked Maissie, the pilot and Malcolm's assistant as standout roles.
The dynamic between Allen, Ellie and Ian is enjoyable. There's almost too many characters to fully appreciate all of their arcs. Director Trevorrow is juggling a lot.
Is it a satisfying conclusion? A final image akin to our heroes on the plane smiling at one another flying away with some graceful closure is NOT what we get. I would've given 1 rating higher if it ended with a much simpler and more emotional final shot.
I am disheartened because JW Dominion had better potential. It just felt so rushed and ended abruptly. See this if you want some popcorn fun, Dominion doesn't strike me as a fulfilling send-off.
