Review of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018) by Aneel O — 25 Dec 2018
I'm surprised at the low rating on this site. I think Fallen Kingdom is a great movie with plenty of depth, lots of emotional weight and humour, and lots from the original source material, that being the Jurassic Park book. Make your own mind up rather than allowing reviews to do so.
Fallen Kingdom carries on the idea of humans meddling for profit, while believing we are capable of controlling nature. The animals are allowed to show more character than we are used to seeing, as well as building nicely on Jurassic World with the Blue/Owen relationship. The cinematography is quite simply gorgeous and the soundtrack spectacular. I find I pick up more with multiple viewings, and some YouTube fans flesh out things which are there, though not always at the forefront of the story. A good movie is one which makes you think and come back for more. This movie by itself has drawn me into the fandom of the franchise which I'm quite happy with.
