Review of Killer Joe (2012) by Alex A — 06 Aug 2013
"Bug" wasn't enough for Friedkin (director of "The Exorcist"), he has teamed up again with the spectacular writer Letts. This southern gothic comedy features a stellar cast and another finely aged script.
While it took "Bug" a decade to go from play to screenplay, it took "Killer Joe" almost twice as long. It's not hard to see why. "The humor magnifies the horror, and vice versa.
" Awesome reference to McConaughey's role in TCM 4. Fantastic performances. "absorb this NC-17 nail bomb with awestruck admiration." What an ending! I look forward to seeing Letts' third film "August: Osage County".
