Review of Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV (2016) by Joshua R — 18 Oct 2016

This movie is meant exclusively for fans of the Final Fantasy series, while it can be enjoyed without knowing the prior context of the video game franchise, you will not get the full effect without the anime and game.

The movie is used to introduce the core of the conflict. The anime introduces the main characters and their relationships with each other. The game is the main event, this is why the others exist, as prologues to this masterpiece.

As a standalone film I would give this a 7.5/10, but watching it the way it was intended, it is perfect.
