Review of Kubo and the Two Strings (2016) by Vanshpal Singh K — 09 Dec 2018
From the studio that brought us the stop motion delights through the likes of Coraline and Paranorman have again, succeeded in engaging us with this one. 'Kubo and the two strings' depicts the journey of the titular protagonist as he is joined by a monkey and a cursed beetle as he tries to collect and assemble the armour invulnerable to face his power hungry grandfather, who wants to take his eye .
The film is visually breathtaking and beautifully animated. The screenplay and story are also spot on. The Japanese setting is a break from the increasingly urban cinema of today.
