I have no idea why critics disliked this movie. Like, it clearly says PG-13, right? I'd have to check if "Meet The Spartans" was ranked lower, because that movie was absolute trash. Either way, I went to see this movie in theaters back in 2002 and had an absolute blast.
The audience had a good time too, everyone laughed at the jokes, the movie was obviously self-aware, and Steve Oedekerk knew it! More then likely inspired by Godfrey Ho and his use of inserting things into old Hong Kong films, It's just too funny to ignore.
