I must be one of the few who just don't get this. Singing is sub-par, acting is good, story is just ok. I get that it's an epic musical reminiscent of the 1950s, which is very nice to see. Overall it just wasn't that compelling for me.
I think maybe Hollywood really likes movies about Hollywood.
