Review of Lars and the Real Girl (2007) by Adam B — 24 Apr 2014
Few films have the skill put into them to keep the audience's attention for the duration. This film was most certainly one of these. Although the premise may seem at first like some sort of sick joke, this film is beautiful inside and out.
Gosling is very believable in this role, even with the heavy task of acting off of an inanimate object. Although the cast as a whole is not outstanding, the film does not suffer. The film also expertly mixes the depression of the movie with hilarious moments that keep the film watchable.
The characters are memorable, and the themes will stick with viewers long after the film's finish.
