This film kind of falls down on every level it tries to get to. It wants to be an art film. It wants to be a Kurt Cobain bio-pic. It wants to be.......SOMETHING! But, nothing quite happens. Michael Pitt's character, Blake, is it?.
..anyways, he never utters a single line. He just utters. And he's constantly shuffling around his property while the camera desperately tries to keep up with him. It's almost as if Van Sant could care less about his characters and wants to capture real life.
If that's the case, he should just take his crew and film himself walking down the sidewalk.
