Review of Leaves of Grass (2009) by Guy W — 24 Jul 2013
I like the idea, the concept, and I am a big fan of Tim Blake Nelson. However, Edward Norton's Southern accent is horrendous. I grew up in the South, went to school in the South, and am familiar with all of the dialects and variations of the accent.
Norton, who is from Columbia, MD, and who is is a fantastic actor, should at least have passing knowledge and appreciation for the Southern tongue, sounds cartoonish and (unforgivable) unauthentic. Sorry.
It rouned it for me and I ejected the DVD halfway through.
