Review of Lethal Weapon (1987) by Jacob B — 22 Dec 2018
Lethal Weapon seems to be treated as some sort of Christmas action masterpiece of sorts preceding Die Hard by a year. I wouldn't go that far. I think this is just a fun '80s action movie with great comedic chemistry from its two leads and action sequences that actually left me on the edge of my seat even with the fact that Mel Gibson's haircut, the music and the gunshot sound effects instantly make it clear that, yep, this is an '80s movie.
I didn't laugh as much as I hoped despite the fact that Shane Black wrote the script but I still thought Lethal Weapon was good. But when it comes to Christmas action movies, Die Hard is superior.
