Review of Lethal Weapon 3 (1992) by Manicure — 22 Nov 2020
The playful tone and bombastic action made the success of “Lethal Weapon 2”, but here they definitely went a bit too far. Cheesy and flimsy to obnoxious levels, the humor grows old fast, and except a couple of funny scenes and the bombastic opening, the magic is dead and gone.
The story doesn’t even matter, it’s just a long series of skits. I can’t believe this came from the same guy who wrote “Lethal Weapon 2”. Leo Gets shouldn’t have been here, the villains are plain boring, and Lorna just didn’t feel right.
Riggs has always been insane, this time they turned him into some kind of weirdo that speaks dog language and eats bone cookies. I appreciated that they filled it with references and inside jokes from the first two films, though.
