Review of Lethal Weapon 3 (1992) by Stephen Z — 30 Jul 2015
Riggs and Murtaugh are back in their third team-up, "Lethal Weapon 3". But the duo's third outing isn't quite as much fun as their previous adventures. The film overall seems to, at times, try too hard to be funny and goofy, instead of coming naturally, as before. Mel Gibson and Danny Glover are just as charming as usual, while Rene Russo brings new blood to the franchise with an enjoyable performance. On the other hand, Joe Pesci's character returns for reasons unknown; only this time, he is more annoying than he is funny.
It's got enough quality action and comedy to be enjoyable, but "Lethal Weapon 3" shows the early signs of a franchise that has run out ideas - quickly.
