Review of Liberty's Secret (2016) by Lisy R — 13 Jan 2019
It revolves ALOT around politics and religion, so if you have a hard time with either one, don't watch. However, if you are a lesbian, I recommend watching it simply for the fact that it is a lesbian musical with a HEA (happily ever after).
***.
Fair WARNING though, there is a conversion therapy moment, that even has it's own dance/song, but it is light and fun, and not very long, and when our protagonist wants to leave, she simply does, with no back lash.
***.
This movie does hit a few hard points, but approaches them with dance and music to get it's point across, and therefore never becomes dark. The acting is good, chemistry between our main leads was bubbly and darling to watch bloom, and the music-was pretty damn good. I don't like religion or politics, and sense that's what the movie and music revolved around, it lost 2 stars, but it is still a cute movie to watch with a significisnt other for date nights.
