Review of Life (2017) by Timm S — 23 Jun 2018
The Greatest Appeal Is The Superior Level Of CGi Over Previous 'When Aliens Attack' Films. In 2017 There Is However A Lack Of Freshness In The Delivery In A What Is Very Familiar Sci-Fi Story. I At Least Liked The Ending That Was Not Your Typical Hollywood Feel-Good One.
There Is Elements Where The Story Does At More Than A few Times, Almost Jump The Shark & Fail To Stay Believable As My Suspension Of Disbelief Is Pushed The Limit. Other Sci-Fi Films Do Not Fail On Poor Story-Development So Easily, You Cannot Just CGi Your Way Out Of Things All The Time.
.But These Day's Many Modern Films Do Just Go With Effects Over Substance. This Is One Example Of Such. It's Disappointing When Sci-Fi Can Be Full Of Such A Plethora Of Story That Can Be Intriguing & Interesting, & Yet, We Sit With 28-Different Ways To Kill An Alien Rather Than Subjective Discussion On Story Line, With Insightful Scenes Playing Out With Thought & Substance.
Hrmmm...Is What It Is, Unfortunately We Get CGi & Explosions Instead.
