Review of Life Itself (2018) by Yash B — 19 Jan 2019
"This Is Us" is probably my favorite new show at the moment. When I found out the creator of the successful series, Dan Fogleman was coming out with a new movie, I was naturally excited. However, once the reviews for "Life Itself" came out, I lost interest for a while.
I still was curious about the movie and decided to check it out. This movie is far from great, but being completely honest, it's not a bad movie. The story can be emotionally manipulative and overly tragic, but the characters are engaging enough.
By the end of the movie, I thought it was a movie that was pretty heartwarming. I thought the actors did a good job and anytime I felt they didn't do that great, it was more due to the weak or over the top dialogue the script presented.
This is a movie with a good message at its center and I think its far from the trainwreck critics want you to believe it is. If you're a fan of family dramas like "This Is Us" I think you will find this movie to be completely acceptable for a one-time viewing.
