Review of Little Women (1933) by Maurice B — 04 May 2009
The plot and acting are both uneven with the exception of Hepburn in this adaptation of the Alcott novel. That's not to say this is a bad movie, quite the contrary, but it was obviously more enjoyable in it's time than it is today.
It tends to meander at times, or at least wander a little aimlessly, in trying to tell the story. I suppose the sad part is that future adaptations of the same novel are no better than this first attempt.
This is definitely for fans of the novel and classic cinema.
