Review of Looking for Eric (2009) by Ws W — 03 Nov 2009
I just don't like it. First, I didn't expect Ken Loach would direct a farce; & probably because he's not really a comedy director, there are problems all over the place about the rhythm as well as the tone of the movie.
The first half is especially slow, loose & boring. There are funny moments, to be fair, but which can hardly remedy its drawbacks. The participation of Eric Cantona (on the acting part) is particularly the most uninteresting part.
