Excellent CGI. The monsters are superbly horrible. The story is not so superb. Basic soppy Disney but whatever. The lead is the well worn Woody Allen archetype , the idiot abroad character who wins in the end, he's OK.
There's an extremely annoying little girl in it for some reason. The critics love her which is baffling since she is as appealing as nails on chalk. The dog is easily the best actor in the whole thing.
Not bad overall, will appeal to teens girls mostly.
