Review of Man on Wire (2008) by John M — 21 Sep 2010
Can you think of the last time (if there are any) that you were moved to tears by an objectively filmed documentary? For me, it was about ten minutes ago. People have lost touch with documentary filmmaking these days as Michael Moore seems to dominate the industry with his loud-mouthed publicity machines.
Man on Wire is exactly how documentaries need to be made, and it's a lesson to Mr. Moore. You don't have to shove your own opinion in the audience's face to move them. All you need is a great true life story and the people involved.
