Review of Man with the Screaming Brain (2005) by Mat K — 18 Mar 2009
Bruce Campbell proves once again that he is king of the B movie. The concept of two minds in one body is an old trick. I doubt there is a sci-fi series out there that hasn't done at least a variation on it.
However, this is a Bruce Campbell film, and Bruce can take an old trick and make it seem new again. As a director, Bruce does a standard, but effective job on this film. He makes good use of the locations and local talent in Bulgaria and the murder in the stairwell scene is frighteningly good.
Ted Rami is hysterical as Pavel, the scientist's assistant and a wannabe rapper. If you're a Bruce Campbell fan you'll love this movie and have likely already seen it. If you're not, well, you probably won't get it.
