Review of Manhunter (1986) by Paul C — 13 Apr 2008
In my opinion, this is still the best of the Hannibal Lector movies (even if they spell his name wrong throughout) with Brian Cox more chilling for being 'normal' as opposed to Hopkins' sometime histrionics.
Fleshed out by a supporting cast who have all become familiar faces, and directed by Mann, fresh from Miami Vice (echoes of the TV series plain to see) and you have a stylish and peerless 80's thriller.
