Many sequels fail because they deliver the exact same elements as their predecessors. This movie is no exception. It's the same story told again, and without the originality behind the original Julie Andrews picture, there's is also an absence of warmth.
It's clear that all involved took great care in making this movie look and sound wonderful. Unfortunately, it just didn't *feel* wonderful.
