Review of Mary Queen of Scots (2018) by Dan H — 14 Jan 2019
Is it possible to just make a historical drama or must everything be seen through 2019 rose colored "me too" glasses? The dialogue feels natural for the time period, then every 10th line our well educated queens will speak as if they were born in 1991 complaining about their gender identities.
Itâ(TM)s hard not to laugh out loud in a crowded theatre during the watching of this rubbish. On top of this, the film still gets thwarted by one incredibly bad melodramatic conversation between the two queens that should have been cut into a quarter of the length.
This movie was painful to watch, and I would have gladly taken her place on the copping block if I couldâ(TM)ve left the theatre an hour earlier.
