Review of Masked and Anonymous (2003) by Private U — 08 Jul 2008
Very strange movie. It seems to be a not-to-distant-future type story, but it's never made clear. The country which is never named seems to be the USA as a Banana Republic. The music is amazing, the acting is brilliant (if you ignore Dylan, and it's incredibly original.
The story however is pretty meaningless. It has a kind of Ginsberg/Burroughs style dialouge that makes it seem more like a bad play then a movie. If you want to see something very different from the mainstream by all means check it out.
