Review of Meg 2: The Trench (2023) by Cylack — 07 Aug 2023
Not nearly as good as the first one because they didn't show enough of the Megs. Too much time spent on a human vs. human conflict and not enough on the sharks that we all came to see. This is co-financed by a Chinese production company so it is has Chinese actors with major roles.
The Chinese guy's English was hard to understand with a thick accent. The girl was just very annoying. Also, this 14 year old girl was apparently the little girl from the first movie where she was probably around 5.
So 9 years should have passed, but in the film it was implied that only 3 years passed. Also it was implied that Jonas had a romantic relationship with the girls mother, but it doesn't explain how she died.
Not that it was important, but still. I would wait for this to come on bluray or a streaming service, not worth seeing in the theater.
