Review of Mission to Mars (2000) by Eddie — 07 Mar 2015
A fairly dull and unoriginal sci fi drama.
Central plot was interesting: NASA sends manned mission to Mars, it.
Runs into trouble, help is sent. Doesn't feel that original - I kept.
Thinking of 2001 A Space Odyssey, even though the plots aren't that.
Similar on the surface. However, there was a still fair bit of potential for something entertaining and/or novel.
Entertainment is light and novelty is minimal.
It just feels like a paint-by-numbers space adventure. Nothing new,.
Nothing really exciting.
Add in some flat and/or unconvincing performances and it is a so-so.
Movie. We know Jerry O'Connell can't act, and Gary Sinese tends to.
Overact, but I would have expected better from Tim Robbins and Don.
Cheadle. Then again, being serious dramatic actors, they were miscast. Connie Nielsen is the most convincing of the lot.
