Review of Mississippi Burning (1988) by David H — 15 Jun 2010
A grandious Southern Drama about the Race Conflict it is superb directed and shoted totally bounding and entertaining every Scene is is Pleasure Gene Hackman is a cool hardassed Southern Agent and William Dafoe his perfect Nothern Counterpart together they fight against the Klan and for the Rights of the Black and to discover the Murder of the 3 Civil Rights Activists Gene Hackman got one fresh Slogan after another he is like the Anti-Hero of a Western then to the tragic Part Racism in the South got a long long History Sure it's Roots it got in Slavery the few Rich Plantation Owners got Black Slaves unsold Workers and Poor White Workers who work for a Dime but the Whites feel supremacy about the Blacks because they free and the Blacks are angry on the Poor Whites because they free and they not allthough they not more sophisticated or educated then them so they don't see their Enemy and both hate each other instead of the Rich then the Yankess come and destroy everything, kill a lot of Men and pillage give the Power to the Blacks let them deconstruct the Infrastructure so the Poor Whites again angry on the Blacks and found the Klan and massacre the Blacks so the Blacks are angry on the Poor Whites a neverending Circle of Hate and every Attempt of the Yankees to change that produce more hate because the Soutern People see the Yankess as Enymied Invaders who want to change their Style of Life and increase their Hate all is wonderful pictured in this Movie also there are beautiful Pictures of the Nature of the South and a bombastic Soundtrack, Frances MacDormand play great too.
