Review of Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack (1988) by Bobby L — 11 Apr 2010
You don't need to be familar with the series to follow everything going on, as it does a good job of setting up the characters on it's own terms, but it would help. The animation is strong, and the fights are very well done, but, as with all the "Gundam" entries, it's mostly about the politics.
I like this aspect of the show, and it helps differeniate it from the throngs of other mecha shows. The ending is very exciting, with all the poltical backstabbing and the fleets of Gundam suits converge.
It won't convert you, if you don't like anime, but if you do, it's solid.
