I knew the scripts going to be good after the first opening scene, then I saw the credits, ah! Aaron Sorkin! Should have watched this in the cinema! The writings tight, the dialogues great. .
The only complaint I got was the scene when she ran into her dad. At first I thought he was a delusion materialized by her stress. Then when I realized that he was really there, I was hoping for a good explanation but that never came. There was no explanation how he could find her there at that time in such a big city... The conversation of that scene was great but it just felt so forced. Couldnt Aaron Sorkin write about how the dads learned about the law firm reping her and just waiting outside for days?
The points of cutting between past and present were also very well chosen. I got very invested in Molly and wanted to learn more and more about her just like her lawyer. .
Jessica Chastain acting was very strong here. I particularly liked the nod that she gave to Idris Elba early on in the movie.
