Moonfall is a remake of Armageddon mixed with Independence Day and Terminator, but has a weaker cast, boring characters and a less interesting plot. The writing is weak and the characters are cardboard.
It would be more entertaining to rewatch any of those. There were many absurdities in this movie, but the snowy chase scene in the car was ridiculous. The movie couldn't decide if it was trying to be serious or a comedy and failed at both.
The effects were passable, but effects never make up for bad writing. I struggled to finish the movie and the only reason I did is I was curious what caused the moon to fall; sadly the payoff wasn't worth it.
