I really did enjoy this movie. I took it for what it was. I understand that the CGI was used in excess, but that's kind of understandable and pretty much expected for the story and what it was. I liked the casting, I liked the story, I enjoyed the world and ideas.
It was a beautiful looking movie, but I expected that from Peter Jackson. My only real complaint was that I wanted more of an understanding as to why Valentine wanted to destroy the wall and what his motives were.
It was so lightly touched on and I felt like I needed more explanation. However, I didn't read the novel and I'm really not that bothered by this issue. Overall, I enjoyed it quite a bit. Four stars from me!
