A charming, if light period romance. Sope Dirisu is very appealing as the nobleman that is looking for a bride. Freida Pinto as his prospective bride does a nice job of balancing her character's cool reserve, sharp wit, and just of hint of vulnerability.
Zawe Ashton is a bit over the top as the vapid and scheming woman that has been passed over, but has a few nice comedic moments. The nontraditional casting requires a bit of open-mindedness on the part of the audience, but elevates the otherwise featherweight material.
While predictable in many respects, "Mr. Malcolm's List" is perfect for the person that loves romantic movies with gorgeous period costumes and an attractive cast.
