Review of My Name Is Bruce (2007) by Tom M — 27 May 2012
Pure stupid fun. And this horror comedy really only works if you know who Bruce Campbell is and are a fan of his work. And even then, a lot of the comedy in the premise is pretty thin, making you wish it was even more of a biting parody than it is and that it had taken it all a lot farther than it does.
A goofy comedy concept twisting into a nasty R-Rated gorefest with serious situations with Bruce could have been a real winner. As it is, itâ(TM)s a self-referential homage to Bruce Campbellâ(TM)s campy career.
Did I like it? Sorta. Well, not really. I just watched it for Bruce. I like him.
